About
My name is Jacqueline Nunweiler
I'm Jacqueline! I studied costume technology at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. I'm still based in Greenville, where I live with my partner and our many pets.

I learned to sew when I was just a kid; I had these little laminated cardboard toys that had holes punched in them that you could weave string through - rudimentary sewing!

(Toys like these!)
As I got older my mom taught me to hand sew and machine sew and I helped her make clothes for my dolls. Soon I graduated to making clothes for myself, and in high school I decided to make my prom dress. I used a commercial pattern and my mom's sewing machine. I learned so much from that one project - how to stiffen a hem, what to use to line a garment, how to line.

THE prom dress. Unfortunately,
I don't have it anymore,
but I'll always have the memories...

I decided to minor in costume technology because I love to sew and create. I make my own clothes and clothes for loved ones as often as I can - when I have time. I like to make my own patterns or adjust commercially published patterns. For a while I worked in the costume department of Cape
Fear Regional Theater in Fayetteville, NC, where I was a stitcher and a permanent part of their wardrobe crew. It made me realize that I could make a living doing something I love.
